Bernard Martei Korley Backs GADANSU’s Volunteer Teachers Programme
Education has always stood at the heart of community transformation, and Bernard Martei Korley is once again demonstrating that true leadership means investing in the next generation.
On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, the former NDC parliamentary aspirant for Ledzokuku and Patron of the GaDangme National Students Union (GADANSU) reaffirmed his commitment to education and youth empowerment. Through his philanthropic arm, the BMK Hope Foundation, Korley pledged continued support for GADANSU’s flagship Volunteer Teachers Programme, an initiative designed to bridge the teaching gap in underserved schools across GaDangme land.
The meeting, led by GADANSU’s National President and a delegation of executives, was both symbolic and practical. It underscored the shared determination to address critical challenges facing education within the GaDangme community.
Bridging the Gap in Education
The Volunteer Teachers Programme, run in partnership with the Ghana Education Service’s Regional Education Directorate, tackles a pressing issue: the shortage of teachers in less-privileged schools. By engaging recent graduates to take up teaching and mentorship roles, the initiative not only fills classroom gaps but also builds a culture of volunteerism and service among young people.
Korley, honoring an earlier promise to support the programme, emphasized that the future of GaDangme land lies in the empowerment of its youth.
“Our collective future is determined by how we prepare our young people today. Education remains the most powerful tool to transform lives and communities,” he remarked.
A Testament to Leadership
For GADANSU, Korley’s involvement goes beyond financial or logistical support—it is a show of authentic leadership in action. The Union’s National President described his contribution as “prompt and motivating,” adding that such dedication strengthens the Union’s resolve to confront the shortage of teachers while inspiring recent graduates to make meaningful contributions.
Building a Legacy of Impact
The ripple effect of initiatives like the Volunteer Teachers Programme cannot be overstated. With consistent support from leaders like Korley, alongside other partners and community stakeholders, the programme is positioned to make a significant impact on education delivery in GaDangme land.
In communities where access to quality education remains a struggle, this kind of partnership reflects a hopeful shift. It represents more than temporary assistance—it is a long-term investment in human capital and the future of GaDangme.
As the BMK Hope Foundation deepens its collaboration with GADANSU, the message is clear: the path to community progress begins with education, and leaders who act with vision can light the way.
