Takoradi set for Gospel Extravaganza as Deborah McKay, Akesse Brimpong and others headline the returns for 6th edition of WGA2026

WGA2026

The countdown has begun to the 6th Edition of the Western Gospel Awards, as the prestigious gospel music celebration prepares to take centre stage on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at the Western Serene Atlantic Hotel in Takoradi. Organised by Prolific GH in partnership with the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), the annual awards scheme is set to bring together gospel musicians, music executives, media personalities, church leaders, corporate organisations and gospel music lovers for a memorable night dedicated to celebrating excellence and impact.
Over the years, the Western Gospel Awards has established itself as one of the major platforms for recognising the contribution of gospel musicians and industry players within the Western Region and beyond.

The 6th edition continues that tradition by providing a platform where established artistes and emerging talents can receive recognition for their creativity, dedication and contribution to gospel music. This year’s event is expected to attract some of the finest names in Ghanaian gospel music, with a strong emphasis on live entertainment and quality production.
One of the major highlights of the night will be live performances from a stellar line-up of gospel artistes, including Deborah McKay, Akesse Brimpong, Yvonne Menz, Efua Black, Esther Godwyll, Kofi Karikari and SK Frimpong.

Their performances are expected to add excitement and spiritual energy to an evening designed to celebrate the very best of gospel music.
Beyond the trophies and performances, the Western Gospel Awards seeks to bring industry stakeholders together to appreciate the progress of gospel music while encouraging greater collaboration, professionalism and investment in the creative sector. The awards also serve as an avenue to give deserving talents from the Western Region greater visibility and recognition on the national gospel music stage.

Blue Carpet Experience

The celebration will officially begin with the Blue Carpet at 5:00pm, where nominees, artistes, celebrities and invited guests will arrive in style.
The main awards ceremony is scheduled for 7:00PM.

Tickets have been set at GH¢60 for Regular and GH¢100 for VIP, giving gospel music lovers the opportunity to witness the celebration live.
With the Western Region’s gospel music community expected to turn out in numbers, the 6th Edition of the Western Gospel Awards is poised to become a major entertainment event on the region’s 2026 calendar.

From the Blue Carpet to the live performances and awards presentations, patrons can expect an evening filled with music, glamour, faith, recognition and celebration.
As the organisers put it, the Western Gospel Awards is more than an awards ceremony—it is a celebration of the people, stories and talents helping to shape the future of gospel music.
The date is November 14. The venue is Western Serene Atlantic Hotel. Takoradi is getting ready for another night of gospel excellence.
