DC Walks Free on Bail as Court Remands Baba Amando
in High-Profile CaseAn Accra Circuit Court has remanded political activist Abubakar Yakubu, popularly known as Baba Amando, into custody following his appearance before the court over allegations of false publication.
The court, after hearing the matter, ordered that Baba Amando be held in custody as investigations and legal processes continue. He is expected to reappear at a later date for further proceedings.
The decision has triggered mixed reactions within political circles, with some observers raising concerns over the development while others insist the legal process must be allowed to take its course.
In contrast, the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, also known as Abronye DC, remains on bail after his earlier arrest by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service.
Abronye DC is currently under investigation for alleged remarks deemed threatening toward a judge presiding over a case at the Adenta Circuit Court. He has since been cooperating with authorities as part of ongoing investigations.
The contrasting outcomes for the two individuals—one remanded and the other on bail—have intensified public interest in the case, which continues to draw national attention.
Legal experts say the developments signal a transition from preliminary investigations to more advanced court proceedings, particularly in the case involving Baba Amando.
Both cases are expected to return to court in the coming days as the judicial process unfolds.
