Pastor, Two Others Remanded Over Alleged Attempt to Bury Baby AliveA pastor and two other individuals have been remanded into custody following their alleged involvement in an attempted ritual act involving a baby in the Ashanti Region.
According to a report by Oyerepa FM and Oyerepa TV, the suspects were arrested after they were caught allegedly attempting to bury a five-month-old baby alive at Abofrem.
The prime suspect, identified as the head pastor of a prayer ministry based at Kuffour Camp, is said to have claimed the act was part of a spiritual exercise intended to heal the child. However, the disturbing incident was reportedly intercepted before any harm could be done to the infant.
The three suspects were subsequently arraigned before a court, where they were remanded into police custody to assist with ongoing investigations. Authorities are working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and any possible motives behind the alleged act.
Meanwhile, the rescued baby is reported to be safe, as officials continue to probe the case.
The Ghana Police Service has assured the public of its commitment to ensuring justice is served and has urged citizens to report any suspicious religious or ritual activities to the authorities.
